If "retirement party" conjures up images of grandma moving to Florida and wearing floral mumus, banish the idea from your mind now! This isn't your grandma's retirement party, oh no.

We'll be saying goodbye to a few of our number who've decided the time has come to retire from Derby and pursue other aspects of their lives like spending time with non-derby friends, higher ed, travels and moves, babies and husbands, etc. So join us in this summertime festivity and say goodbye to these retiring girls in style.

And because we are who we are, you can expect some sort of fun entertainment. If you went to the North Carolina send-off party, you know what to expect; and if you didn't, well then here's your chance to find out what you missed!

ROLLERGIRLS TO INVADE BUMBERSHOOT
The Minnesota RollerGirls will be one of eight invited teams playing in the 2006 Bumbershoot, Flat-track Derby Invitational. If you're a music fan and a derby fan, as we know many of you are, you should start looking into tickets to get out to Seattle for Labor Day weekend now. Bumbershoot has been around since 1971 and is one of the premier music, art, and performance festivals in the country and will take place September 2-4.

NOW RECRUITING FOR 2006-2007 SEASON
The Minnesota RollerGirls are looking for new skaters to add to our ranks for the 2006-2007 season. The only requirement is that you are at least 21 years old.

ASPIRING ROLLERGIRLS
Mark Sunday, July 23rd on your calendars -- you'll want to be well-rested for that afternoon's tryouts! Derby hopefuls will be run through a series of drills that test athletic ability and roller skating skills.
